I remember No Holds Barred when it came out, but never saw it. And up until this day I never had any interest in it. Even as someone who enjoyed wrestling during it's late 90's/early 2000's days.

I really want to see this movie now.

LMAO I have utterly failed if that's your takeaway. But also, I understand. Let me know how it goes!

I do love a good trainwreck.

In fairness to Dennis Hackin, Hogan claimed a large part of the credit (blame) for the script, which he said he cowrote with Vince in a hotel room while the Hulkster was on the toilet. I think the book Ringmaster goes into some detail on this, as well as Vince’s anger that Hogan still expected to be paid even though the movie bombed.

🤣 that's so much worse!

Not to knock a WONDERFUL review, but "A Different World" was HUGE in many households, including mine. For many, it felt like the first time they were getting to see Black characters in an academic setting. And the writing really wasn't bad. It really deserves to be ranked with some of the best TV spinoffs of all time.

I actually remembered it once I googled, but my initial reaction was confusion. I knew it as 'the Lisa Bonet show' because I had a huge crush on her.

-"The exec backs into exposed wires and is electrocuted. The crowd falls silent for 5 seconds and then starts cheering." There are some people now for whom this should happen...

-"A Different World" was a spin-off of "The Cosby Show" set in a fictional HBCU.

-When your star is also an executive producer of the film, the star will naturally ensure that he is always presented in the best light possible.

The fact that Hulk Hogan was executive producer makes some of the character choices even crazier!
